Why does this podcast exist? It’s here because silence is still the default when it comes to people’s experiences with Military Sexual Trauma (MST).

The Silenced Voices of MST is a space where survivors share what they feared would be judged, experts explain the system that keeps MST firmly rooted in military culture, and where family members and advocates can begin to understand what was never explained. Everyone on this show has decided they’re ready to be heard.

These conversations ask and answer impossible questions. Many times, it’s the first time a survivor has dared to say the words out loud. When their words are finally spoken, their experience becomes more than a memory they’ve tried to avoid for years. It becomes real for themselves and anyone who takes the time to listen to their truth.

You are welcome here whether you are still in uniform, long separated, or just someone trying to make sense of what happened to someone you love.

Content Warning: Episodes include descriptions of sexual violence, retaliation, and institutional neglect which may be triggering.
Listener discretion is advised.
